My Bio
Hello world!

THANK YOU FOR THE FAVORITES, COMMENTS AND ALSO THE LLAMAS! I appreciate every single one of them :).

I'm a .NET developer/programmer and I'm drawing as a hobby.

I gave up drawing back when I was a kid (like most people)...actually I've never taken it seriously and have recently started to pick it back up (summery 2012) and there's so much to learn. To be honest, the reason why I've taken it seriously now is because I enjoy the process or what I can do with the different mediums. I haven't drawn in a while that I forgot that I can actually draw (true story)...I'm still in that stage of exploration and realization of what art is all about, my strength and weaknesses. I don't consider myself an artist (just yet) as I don't feel that I'm good enough to be considered one.

I use traditional medium, Wacom tablet and the iPad interchangeably-- depending on the mood. I also try to switch the genre for variety so I don't get used to a certain type so it varies from time to time. I love portraits though and tend to do them more than others. I'm also trying to try other mediums and experiment with a lot of things so I still have tons to learn.

I'm here to learn as much as I can and get feedback as to how I can improve my drawings. My practice drawings can also be found at themenace.tumblr.com. My YouTube channel is the Menace channel.

Hello everyone, I have a new video that I just uploaded to YouTube a couple of days ago and it's a timelapse (with commentary) on my latest portrait drawing. Please check it out and subscribe as I will be uploading more soon. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCMouQpJBrs&feature=plcp

Still doing art

0 min read
Lately, I've been doing a lot of traditional media practice to hopefully improve my art in general (traditional and digital) so even though I haven't been uploading any new art, I'm practicing on a daily basis. My goal right now is to at least draw, paint or at least touch the pencil at least an hour per day. I noticed that my art has improved drastically on when I started last month or two. I gave up art back in high school due to the fact that I felt that my drawings aren't great when compared to others. I now realize that with constant practice, I could improve and will only become better with time. Talent is a gift but the only way to be

I thought I'd share a few of the configuration that I have defined for the Intuos5 to establish a better workflow in Photoshop. I don't mind doing the basic keystrokes on the keyboard but since Intuos5 has configurable buttons and pen, it's nice to take advantage of these features. First is flipping the canvas horizontally. I did some research and I see some people assigning an action to create this process, but I think this only over complicate things. By default, there's no built-in hot keys for this one but if you use this a lot, assigning a hot key manually to it can be handy. Having to go to image>image rotation/flip canvas is a little

Thank you so much for the watch!
Thanks for the watch, and your actually my 50th watcher which is the first milestone for me so thanks again.
I also like your gallery your really talented. And as your on my watch If you need any advice or tips feel free to ask me anytime.
I just read your bio and it sounds similar to mine which I also picked up drawing this year (2012) after maybe 12+ years of not drawing. Thank you for the compliment and keep doing what you're doing :). I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your work and ask guidance if I need it.
When i started drawing again and looked at the artists on here, my mind was blown. I just could not believe what they were creating.
But i slowly started to realise, you can have all the talent in the world, but the tools you use are just as crucial. So i spent lots on new equipment, especially the type of paper which is the most crucial. I've provided a list to others on my watch, so if your ever interested just ask and i will post it to you.
It's funny that you mentioned the tools and I did my share of spending thousands in a period of 2-3 months buying and testing paper, pencils, inks, etc.
Since you mentioned it, do you have a list of tools (digital or traditional) that you recommend?
